Happy Chinese New Year
Alright. Happy Moo Year to ALL.
I did not celebrate chinese new year due to the passed away of my mother-in-law last Wednesday. Initially I took leave on last Wednesday to Friday to go home and make pineapple tarts. But was informed that mother-in-law insisted to go home on Tuesday night. So it wasn't good for me to be not at home. Thinking that I can go mum's home on Wednesday daytime instead of Tuesday night.
Reaching home @ night, mother-in-law was sleeping soundly as no matter how the maid/brothers call her. The very next morning @ 6++, was awaken when hubby went outside of the room and came back to change immediately. Asked him why was he changing. He told me to go outside see. Uh-hur. Mother-in-law was lying there with no more breathe. The maid was shouting "啊嬷,起来." She's gone. Not long later, brothers/sisters/relatives were all informed. Funeral setting up downstairs. Crying tones everywhere.
Not mentioning much on the funeral. Last day of funeral falled on Sunday which was supposed to be reunion dinner. Hubby's side did not celebrate reunion dinner. Mum/Brother called me and asked if we wanna join Grandni's side. Hubby said it was not auspicious if he join them as my side still got old people. But it should be okay for me to join if I want. Keep thinking and thinking if I should go a not. He knows me well that I really wish to join them. And so Brother came to fetch me to Grandni's house. As usual the steamboat and teppanyani session. Having fun with the cousins, cooking the white long mushrooms, the eggs, the sausages, the fish, the meat, etc. I do miss them lots.
Next, not forgetting the yusheng though this time round it wasn't me that prepare the yusheng. But still we ate it happily. :) Afterwhich, one short mahjong session and home sweet home.
Chu Yi was just staying @ home with computer games and sleeping. We were not supposed to bai nian. My side must be enjoying gambling, collecting hong bao and cam-whoring hor? Chu Er is the officially 7 days that mother-in-law passed away. So we had to go to the temple to pray and burn some joss papers. One of the brothers said that mother-in-law was talking to him when he was sleeping and he was so scare that he kept praying. Afterwhich, they came to home and play mahjong, chit chatting, watch tv and play blackjack.
2 tables of mahjong. One table of guys playing "tai" and the other tables of girls playing "no tai". $1 $2. Win and lose fast. Played from early afternoon to about 9pm++. Everyone began to pack and head home as some had to study/work on Chu San.
Hubby insisted not to close the door as it was the 7 days, he wanna wait for mother-in-law to be back. It was a long night. I slept @ 10++ and kept waking up at subsequently 11pm++, 2am++, 3am++, 4am++ and 5am++. I hardly sleep. Maybe Im scare. =x And soon alarm rang. Aww. Finally. Off to work.
