Jamie; you gonna miss this enjoyable buffet dinner that we had last night.
The 8 of us went to Raffles Place there; UOB building; level 60 to have a SiChuan Buffet Dinner to celebrate MJ's birthday. There is about 60 dishes that you can order; according to the waitress, you can order as many bowl of shark fins as you want.
This restaurant is researched by Yue. Haha.
With UOB card discount 4 pays for 3. So total is about $38 each. Quite worthy as we ate really quite a lot.
I should have take a copy of the menu so that I can list the food that we ate here. Lol. As what dian counted ytd, we ate about 29 dishes (of course, including duplicating dishes that we think is nice).
First of all, we ordered some appetisers to try. I <3 the prawn salad; which is basically cold slice of prawn and those mixed fruits with mayo sauce. Other appetisers like cold octopus; basically diff taste from those jap restaurant, spicy chicken; im not sure what it taste as it looks too spicy for me to try, this fried weird weird thing; lol dunno what's tat, din try also, jelly fish; not bad, abit spicy.
The atmosphere over there quite nice; especially the view from 60 storeys where you can see almost the whole of the city area. The tea, oops I forgot the name of the tea; taste quite unique and nice. I would say is unique cause I hardly drink this kind of tea lah. lol.
Emma was the 1st one to say full followed by Yan. Lol. Dian, Yue, Jing and Me is trying our best to eat eat eat. =x Lets see what else did we order...
Soft-shell crab; we ordered about 3 times of this as per request from Yue. lol. Quite nice and abit oily. But if there's more pork floss to cover the oily taste then it will be great! 3 different fishes as per request from Dian. Fish-king. =x We tried Soon Hock and Sea Bass. If the soon hock is not fried one, then probably it will be nice. Steamed sea bass is yummy with bean paste. and the third fish that we order last tasted too fishy and very big lor. Known as Red Tilapia, steamed in minced garlic sauce; Yue's favourite sauce. Yue, Dian and me tried our best to finish the fish. =x
Stir-fry prawn with cashew nuts and dried chilli, fried prawn nugget, I think still got 1 more prawn but I forget what le. Gong bao chicken. Sharkfin and 8 bao seafood soup. Woah... Ohya, mapo tofu.... Jing's bf favourite. I mean he ate the most. with the fried rice to go with it. lol. Ee fu noodles, Jing's favourite... We just order and order. Even the waitress asked us if we can finish the food.
Desserts was this sesame ball with "nian yong", glutinious rice ball with clear water-based as the soup (so weird), mago pudding; tastes weird too. Beancurd with wolfberries. Taste weird. Basically the dessert is not really nice; I mean probably it was just tat we dunno how to appreciate sichuan dessert taste. hehe.
And lastly, oreo cheesecake for our birthday girl. =]
Hope you enjoy this day with so many of us. Jamie you are being missed. We are all sure that if you were there, we will eat more than that!
